POSITION PURPOSE
The role of the Pastor at New City Church (NCC) is to provide spiritual and pastoral service and leadership for the church, establishing the vision, developing teams, engaging and building relationships with the wider church, and discipling the community as we strive towards our vision: that all might find refuge and life in Jesus.
The NCC Pastor will guide the physical gathering, spiritual growth, relational development, and missional engagement of a church of LGBTIQA+ individuals and allies.
A key element of the role is the development and support of a team of hard-working volunteers, without whom the church cannot function.
NCC’S VISION
We proudly stand as an LGBTQIA+ affirming church, and we provide a space where people can explore faith in fresh, exciting, and inclusive ways.
NCC exists that “all might find refuge and life in Jesus.” We affirm that everyone is welcome at the table - literally (in terms of the communion table) and metaphorically (in the sense of God’s wide welcome for all, which we as the church are invited to incarnate).
We are an open and inclusive faith community, welcoming all who wish to journey with us as we seek to faithfully follow Jesus, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, theological questions, or particular doctrinal lens.
We are firmly grounded in the Bible and also recognise that our understanding can continually grow and deepen. We welcome gaining fresh insights into God's word while staying rooted in scripture.
You can find out more about NCC here.
